Happy Face Cake
For Jeremy's 1st Birthday, March 2005
When I had to think of what kind of cake would be perfect for Jeremy's 1st birthday, I couldn't help but think of a happy face. Jeremy is a very happy little boy and always smiling. So it was an all happy face theme for his big day.
I made this cake from a cake mix. It was a two layer cake. The bottom layer was done in a round cake pan and the top layer in a rounded bottom pyrex glass bowl. The pyrex bowl gave it a very nice round top. The hat and bow tie were cutout from a sheet cake pan.
I used black cake decorators frosting to create the eyes and smile and yellow and black licorice to decorate the bow tie and hat.
I couldn't decide where to stick the candle, so I added a muffin mound to hold the "number 1" candle.
